Gathering of the Jack O'Lanterns

GATHERING OF THE JACK O’LANTERNS

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2025

The Gathering of the Jack O’Lanterns is one of Littleton’s most anticipated fall celebrations. Each year, this community event transforms the town into a glowing display of creativity, featuring hundreds of hand-carved pumpkins illuminated along the Ammonoosuc River. Visitors come from across New England to experience the spectacle, which captures the spirit of the season and showcases the charm of downtown Littleton. Explore this year’s event schedule or become a volunteer!

A Celebration of Community and Creativity

The event began as a small local gathering and has grown into a major attraction that draws families, artists, and fall enthusiasts alike. Volunteers and local businesses contribute to the event’s success by carving pumpkins, decorating the riverside, and hosting family-friendly activities. The glowing pumpkins create a magical atmosphere that reflects the town’s creativity and community pride.

An Unforgettable Autumn Experience

As night falls, the Ammonoosuc River becomes lined with hundreds of flickering jack-o’-lanterns placed along the rocks and riverbanks. The reflections on the water, combined with crisp autumn air and festive decorations, make for an unforgettable evening. Visitors can stroll along the Riverwalk, enjoy live entertainment, and explore local shops and eateries that stay open for the celebration.

Family Fun and Halloween Spirit

The Gathering of the Jack O’Lanterns offers something for everyone. Families can participate in pumpkin carving, trick or treating, and seasonal activities throughout the week. As darkness settles in, the town glows with the light of the pumpkins, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all ages to enjoy the Halloween spirit.

Supporting Local Causes

In addition to bringing joy to residents and visitors, the Gathering of the Jack O’Lanterns also supports local community initiatives. Donations and proceeds benefit programs that improve recreational spaces and activities for Littleton’s youth, reinforcing the town’s commitment to giving back.
