The Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to highlight this week’s featured member Ridge Hemp. Founded by Jim and Tanya White, Ridge Hemp has quickly become a trusted source for high-quality, USDA-certified organic CBD products. Their passion for helping others and commitment to transparency have made them a valuable part of the local business community.
From Personal Need to Business Mission
Ridge Hemp began in 2020 after Tanya’s personal health challenges inspired the couple to start growing hemp. “It’s because Tanya has fibromyalgia,” Jim explained. “We had tried a bunch of different CBD products… some gave her headaches, some didn’t. After a bunch of research, we realized people weren’t really testing their products.” This experience led them to grow their own hemp to ensure the highest quality and safety for Tanya and, eventually, their customers.
By 2021, Ridge Hemp launched its online store, offering products they personally trusted. As Jim shared, “We figured out how to grow, we started talking to other CBD producers… and both of us really like helping others. Since CBD was helping Tanya, we decided that maybe we could help others as well.”
High-Quality Products
Today, Ridge Hemp offers around 30 products, from sublingual oils to topicals. Their first product, the muscle relief rub, remains their top seller. “The relief rub is by far our biggest seller,” Jim noted. They also offer CBG oils, pet-friendly CBD products, and unique blends like Purple Dreams, which combine CBD and CBN for sleep support.
Every product is tested for quality and purity, with lab results published on their website. Ridge Hemp is also the first USDA-certified organic hemp farm in New Hampshire, reflecting their dedication to quality and compliance.
Education and Transparency
Jim and Tanya emphasize consumer education. “We’re not allowed to make medical claims,” Tanya said, “but we can say it may help. Our customers use CBD for pain, sleep, and anxiety.” They also explain the differences between cannabinoids like CBD, CBG, and CBN, helping customers choose products that meet their needs.
The couple also makes it clear that CBD is not the same as THC. “CBD doesn’t make you high,” Jim explained. “It can help control pain and anxiety. CBG, on the other hand, can help with pain, anxiety, and focus without making you sleepy.”
Local and Global Impact
Ridge Hemp operates both online and from their brick-and-mortar location in Littleton, NH. They ship nationwide and participate in local fairs and farmers markets to connect directly with customers. In addition to growing their business, they actively give back to the community, donating to local organizations such as the local hospice and library.
Their generosity extends internationally as well. Tanya, originally from Ukraine, and Jim support families impacted by the war. “We send money directly to families who need it,” Tanya explained. “There’s no overhead, and the money is received within minutes. We just try to help whoever falls through the cracks.”
Looking Ahead
Ridge Hemp continues to grow, both in production and community impact. They recently expanded their wholesale operations, allowing more retailers to carry their products. Their commitment to quality and their mission of helping people remain at the heart of everything they do.
As Jim summed it up, “Every day is a different challenge because it’s such a new industry, but we love what we do. We started this to help Tanya, and now we’re helping people across the country.”
