North Country Chamber Players Present a Family-Friendly, FREE Performance of Peter and the Wolf

The North Country Chamber Players invite audiences of all ages to experience one of the most beloved works in classical music with a special performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. This unforgettable musical adventure blends storytelling, colorful instrumental music, and timeless charm in a performance designed to delight both first-time listeners and longtime fans — Wednesday, July 22, 11am at The Colonial Theatre, Bethlehem and Thursday, July 23, 11am, at the Rialto Theatre, Lancaster.
The Chamber Players will present Prokofiev’s classic in a unique arrangement for winds, percussion, and narrator. In collaboration with Weathervane Theatre, acclaimed actor Jorge Donoso will serve as narrator, bringing the story’s memorable characters to life through engaging storytelling and theatrical flair.
Recognized as one of New England’s premier chamber music ensembles, the North Country Chamber Players have a longstanding tradition of presenting imaginative musical storytelling for audiences of all ages. Their acclaimed family performances have included Peter and the Wolf, Carnival of the Animals, The Nightingale, and The Soldier’s Tale, in collaboration with organizations including Ben & Jerry’s, Starbird Puppet Theater, Weathervane Theatre, and Bread and Puppet Theater.
These free, family-friendly performances are open to the community and offer an engaging introduction to classical music while providing a nostalgic experience for those who grew up with Prokofiev’s enduring masterpiece.
