The featured member, Granite United Way, plays a vital role in strengthening communities across New Hampshire by connecting people, resources, and solutions that improve lives at the local level. With a mission focused on education, financial stability, and health, Granite United Way works across regions to support nonprofits while engaging businesses and volunteers in meaningful ways.

A Community-Centered Approach to Impact

Granite United Way operates as both a funder and a convener, bringing together nonprofits, businesses, and volunteers to address pressing local needs. By investing in a network of community partners, the organization supports programs that provide food access, housing assistance, mental health services, and early childhood education.

This approach allows Granite United Way to remain flexible and responsive. Rather than applying a single model across all communities, the organization works region by region to understand local challenges and direct resources where they are needed most.

Supporting Northern New Hampshire

In northern communities such as Littleton and the surrounding areas, Granite United Way helps address challenges that can be more pronounced in rural regions. Access to transportation, healthcare, and stable housing can be limited, making coordinated support essential.

Through partnerships and funding, Granite United Way helps strengthen the network of local nonprofits serving the North Country. This work supports both immediate needs and long-term stability for individuals and families.

Day of Caring 2026: Dates and How to Get Involved

One of Granite United Way’s most visible initiatives is the annual Day of Caring, a statewide volunteer event that brings together businesses, community groups, and individuals for a day of service.

In 2026, Day of Caring will take place on May 15 across most regions, including Central, Greater Seacoast, Merrimack County, Northern, Southern, and Upper Valley regions, with the North Country region scheduled for May 20.

Volunteer registration opens in April, when individuals and teams can browse available projects and sign up through the Granite United Way website. Businesses are encouraged to register teams early, as projects are filled on a first come basis. Opportunities typically run for a half day or full day, making participation manageable for both small teams and larger company groups.

June Golf Tournament: How to Participate

Granite United Way’s partnership with the Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce continues with the annual Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, traditionally held each June and recognized as one of the Chamber’s signature summer events.

The tournament is structured as a team-based event, with businesses and community members registering as foursomes. Participation includes a full day on the course along with networking opportunities that extend beyond play, often including registration, organized tee times, and a post-tournament gathering.

Local businesses can also participate through sponsorship opportunities, which typically include visibility on the course, recognition during the event, and direct engagement with attendees. Sponsorships are often secured in advance of the event, making early registration important for companies looking to maximize visibility.

Registration and sponsorship details are made available through the Chamber’s event page, where participants can secure team spots and review available partnership options. As with many Chamber events, space is limited and tends to fill as the date approaches.

Engaging Businesses and Volunteers

Granite United Way’s impact is driven in large part by its partnerships with businesses and volunteers. Workplace giving campaigns, volunteer events, and sponsorship opportunities allow companies to contribute in ways that align with their goals while supporting local communities.

Events like Day of Caring and the June golf tournament provide accessible ways for businesses to get involved, whether through hands-on service or financial support. These opportunities also help strengthen relationships within teams and across the broader business community.

Looking Ahead

As communities continue to face evolving challenges, Granite United Way remains focused on collaboration and local impact. By connecting people and resources, the organization helps build stronger, more resilient communities throughout New Hampshire.

For members of the Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce, Granite United Way offers clear and practical ways to get involved. Whether volunteering during Day of Caring in May or participating in the Chamber’s golf tournament in June, businesses and individuals have opportunities to make a meaningful difference close to home.
